To Reconsider Resolution 7356 and Adopt the Resolution as 1
Amended to Allow the Chief to advertise for a ¾ time PSO position. 2
3
Ayes – 4 Nays – 1(Stigney) Motion carried. 4
5
Council Member Stigney suggested that the motion to reconsider should be separate from any 6
motion of approval. 7
8
City Attorney Riggs indicated that the motion to reconsider and adopt simultaneously is 9
appropriate. 10
11
MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Marty. To Extend the Meeting to 11:30 p.m. 12
13
Ayes – 4 Nays – 1(Stigney) Motion carried. 14
15
G. Resolution 7360, Amending Resolution 7307 in Regard to Parking Along 16
Hillview Road and Greenwood Drive as Reconstructed Under the 2009-2010 17
Street and Utility Improvement Project. 18
19
Joe Rhein, Bonestroo, provided information on parking along Hillview Road and Greenwood 20
Drive as part of the 2009 – 2010 Street and Utility Improvement Project. 21
22
Mr.Rhein noted that angled parking is to be constructed along Hillview Road. 23
24
John Kroeger said that last week the Streets and Utilities Committee had restated its position and 25
they remain with their initial position. They also discussed this with the Forester and asked for a 26
walk through to discuss impacts to trees. 27
28
Cindy Palm spoke to the cost of the project noting that there are 15 parallel stalls, removing 9 29
stalls to add 14 angled stalls that makes 20 stalls with one additional stall for handicapped 30
parking. She then said that at $30,000 that is $10,000 per stall to add two more stalls to the north 31
side of Hillview and that does not make any sense. The City could open up Hillview to allow 32
parking on both sides. 33
34
Council Member Mueller said that she is concerned that the park is stagnant and she is 35
wondering if it was a waste of money to upgrade the building. She then said she has received 36
calls about this issue. 37
38
Council Member Mueller indicated that park usage is projected to increase and she is in favor of 39
the short option. 40
41
Council Member Hull asked whether it is true that the building is not being rented due to parking 42
issues. Clerk Administrator Ericson said that it may be true of some users but he is not sure that 43
it is measurable. 44
45
