Item No: 11B1 <br />Meeting Date: December 22, 2008 <br />Type of Business: <br />Administrator Review: _____ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To:Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From:Joe Rhein, Consulting Engineer <br />Item Title/Subject:Report on Arden Hill’s Proposed I-35W & County Road H <br />Interchange Improvements <br />Background: <br />Significant planning activities are being focused on the TCAAP area of Arden Hills, <br />including the abutting roadways. There are three primary areas of focus: <br />- Ramsey County is studying the potential to create a grade separated <br />intersection at Highway 10 and County Road 96 <br />- Private developer is investigating the TCAAP site, and the potential for a <br />new primary road entrance to the site which would connect to Highway 10 <br />between County Road 96 and Interstate 35W <br />- The City of Arden Hills is investigating the interchange of Interstate 35W and <br />County Road H <br />The potential improvements being investigated by Arden Hills at the interchange at I-35W <br />and County Road H could extend down County Road H all the way to County Road 10. <br />Therefore, there is the potential that the Arden Hills improvements could abut or even <br />overlap the proposed future improvements by the City of Mounds View at the intersection <br />of County Road 10 and County Road H. <br />A Project Management Team (PMT) had been formed to meet regularly on the projects to <br />share information and maintain good communication. Former Public Works Director Greg <br />Lee had attended the PMT meetings on behalf of Mounds View. <br />Due to lack of progress, the PMT meetings had been suspended in April 2008. Recently, <br />the City received notice that the next PMT meeting had been scheduled for December 4, <br />2008.
