Staff understanding of the specific questions were: <br />- What is the relative volume of south-bound traffic on Red Oak Drive to the <br />traffic on Long Lake Road? <br />- How does the current or recent total volume on the north end of Red Oak <br />Drive near Long Lake Road compare with historical volumes? <br />Discussion: <br />Relative Traffic of Red Oak Drive to Long Lake Road <br />In response to the questions, Public Work Staffs put traffic counters out at the intersection <br />of Red Oak Drive and Long Lake Road. The counters were set for a 48-hour period, from <br />approximately noon on Tuesday December 2, 2008 to noon on Thursday December 4, <br />2008. Three locations were counted: <br />- South bound Red Oak Drive, just south of Long Lake Road <br />- East bound Long Lake Road, just west of Red Oak Drive <br />- West bound Long Lake Road, just east of Red Oak Drive <br />The following table summarizes the 48-hour counts obtained. No adjustments or <br />corrections have been applied to the volumes: <br />Location 48-Hour Count <br />East bound Long Lake Road 4,122 <br />West bound Long Lake Road 2,256 <br />South bound Red Oak Drive 1,578 <br />The figure included with this Staff Report shows these counts graphically.
