Item No: 7C Meeting Date: December 22, 2008 Type of Business: CB Administrator Review: _____ City of Mounds View Staff Report To:Honorable Mayor and City Council From:Joe Rhein, Consulting Engineer Item Title/Subject:Resolution 7382 Approving The Plans And Specifications, Setting the Bid Date, And Authorizing the Advertisement For Bids For The 2009-2010 Street and Utility Improvement Project: Background: On May 22, 2006 the City Council adopted Resolution 6823 authorizing preparation of a Feasibility Report for the 2007-2008 Street and Utility Improvement Project. On December 11, 2006 the City Council held a Public Hearing on the 2007-2008 Street and Utility Improvement Project and adopted Resolution 6982 approving the Feasibility Report. On February 12, 2007 the City Council adopted Resolution 7018 approving the sufficiency of petition in opposition to the 2007-2008 Street and Utility Improvement Project. The 2007-2008 Project was thus suspended. On October 22, 2007 the City Council adopted Resolution 7176 establishing the Street and Utility Program. The Program includes nine Street and Utility Improvement Projects to be constructed over a ten year period, beginning in 2009 and ending in 2018. On February 11, 2008 the City Council adopted Resolution 7223 establishing the Streets and Utilities Committee, to ensure that the Street and Utility Improvement Program was implemented as adopted, and to advise and provide recommendations to the City Council on design and financing issues encountered. On March 24, 2008 the City Council adopted Resolution 7243 ordering the 2009-2010 Street and Utility Improvement Project, the first project of the Street and Utility Improvement Program. The area for the 2009-2010 Street and Utility Improvement Project is identical to the former 2007-2008 Project, with the addition of Red Oak Drive from Sherwood Road to Long Lake Road.
