<br /> <br />2016 Priorities Update Report <br />Nov 7, 2016 <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />POLICE <br /> <br />Promote positive partnerships and outreach efforts between the Mounds View Police <br />Department and the community it serves <br /> <br />• Organized a Highway clean up event along I-35W. <br />• Coordinated the Tubman Diaper Drive and Target shopping spree. <br />• Plan for a National Night Out pre-party at City Hall with the MVPD, Allina, SBM <br />Fire, National Guard, etc. <br />• The Department is exploring other programs for the year, which could include <br />things like a Thanksgiving food drive, Goonie mini golf tournament, <br />Homelessness Backpacks with Essentials, Halloween Party, 3-3 basketball <br />tournament, and Curling with a Cop. <br />• Build upon last year’s successes with programs such as Punt, Pass & Kick; <br />Shop with a Cop; and Bowling with a Cop. <br />• Hosted the first “Coffee with a Cop” event on October 7th. <br />• Pass, Punt, and Kick competition occurred on Sept 17th, almost 50 kids <br />participated! <br />• The MN Wild hockey team will be donating hockey gear so we can set <br />up a fun “Kids N Cops” hockey program. <br />• Obtained a mobile rock climbing wall which will be used during <br />outdoor community engagement events. <br />• Veterans Day program scheduled at Silver Lake Pointe senior facility <br />with children from Pinewood Elementary participating. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKS <br /> <br /> <br />Focus on corridor maintenance, aesthetics, landscaping and appearance; pursue linkages to <br />promote regional trailway connectivity <br /> <br /> <br />• The construction contract for Mounds View Boulevard (CSAH 10) Trail Segments <br />6 & 11 has been awarded. Staff and Northwest Asphalt will be meeting to discuss <br />start time and project duration. <br />• Staff has met with one contractor to gain pricing to contract out maintenance on <br />the center median of Mounds View Blvd. Additional pricing is being sought. <br />• Staff will coordinate with Ramsey County for regular mowing. <br />• County Road H is under construction as part of the County’s project to replace the <br />bridge over I-35W . Estimated completion date is November 2016. The work will <br />include a trail along County Road H between Arden Hills and Mounds View. <br /> <br />
