Mounds View City Council March 24, 2014 <br />Regular Meeting Page 5 <br /> <br />Mr. Jaru indicated the business address was never changed. 1 <br /> 2 <br />Council Member Meehlhause commented he was uncomfortable with this request and could not 3 <br />support the tobacco license transfer. 4 <br /> 5 <br />Council Member Gunn summarized the information the Council was presented with this evening 6 <br />stating she too had concerns with the request. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Mayor Flaherty withdrew his motion. Council Member Mueller withdrew her second. 9 <br /> 10 <br />City Attorney Riggs suggested the Council continue this request to allow Staff time to verify the 11 <br />information with the applicant prior to approving the tobacco license transfer. 12 <br /> 13 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Flaherty/Mueller. To continue this item consistent with City Chapter 512 14 <br />and direct staff to work with the applicant to resolve the application inconsistencies. 15 <br /> 16 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 17 <br /> 18 <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane clarified that Mr. Jaru would not be able to sell tobacco or 19 <br />take shipment of tobacco until the Council approved the transfer of the tobacco license. 20 <br /> 21 <br />C. Resolution 8235, Approving a Transfer of Ownership for a Gasoline and 22 <br />Cigarette/Tobacco License Located at the Mounds View BP, 2155 County 23 <br />Road 10. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane stated that the present owner of the Mounds View BP, Scott 26 <br />Stevens, was requesting a transfer of ownership for its tobacco license. She reported all 27 <br />necessary permits and fees were submitted to the City. She explained the license would be 28 <br />contingent upon a satisfactory inspection of the Mounds View BP by the Fire Marshal. She 29 <br />reported the tobacco license would expire on June 30, 2014. 30 <br /> 31 <br />Mayor Flaherty questioned when the fire inspection would take place. Assistant City 32 <br />Administrator Crane stated the fire inspection was scheduled for March 27, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. 33 <br /> 34 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8235, 35 <br />Approving a Transfer of Ownership for a Gasoline and Cigarette/Tobacco License Located at the 36 <br />Mounds View BP, 2155 County Road 10. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Council Member Meehlhause thanked staff for providing the Council with a copy of the email 39 <br />from Mr. Stevens regarding the improvements Mr. Stevens has planned for the Mounds View 40 <br />BP. 41 <br /> 42 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 43 <br /> 44 <br />D.
