Mounds View City Council March 24, 2014 <br />Regular Meeting Page 14 <br /> <br />reported the contractor would be responsible for returning the new access point to its current 1 <br />condition after all work was completed. He questioned if the Council supported this amendment. 2 <br /> 3 <br />Council Member Meehlhause asked if the City would receive additional compensation because 4 <br />of the proposed amendment. City Administrator Ericson anticipated the City would receive 5 <br />additional compensation. 6 <br /> 7 <br />The Council supported staff’s recommendation. 8 <br /> 9 <br />1. Public Works Annual Report 10 <br /> 11 <br />Public Works Director DeBar discussed the 2013 Annual Report with the Council. He 12 <br />highlighted the projects completed along with the shifts made to personnel. He reviewed the 13 <br />amount of water pumped and discussed the number of water service breaks. He noted the 14 <br />County would be rehabbing County Road I in 2015. 15 <br /> 16 <br />Public Works Director DeBar reported the Wellhead Protection Plan was completed and 17 <br />approved. He then reviewed the cost saving measures seen by the City due to his coordinating 18 <br />efforts. He noted utilities for the TCAAP site would continue to be discussed with the City of 19 <br />Arden Hills. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Public Works Director DeBar explained Area F was completed in 2013 and the City had only 22 <br />three more improvement projects remaining. He was proud of the park improvements completed 23 <br />at Silver View Park and reported the City received “Tree City” Status again for the 32nd year in a 24 <br />row. 25 <br /> 26 <br />Public Works Director DeBar questioned if the Street Committee should remain intact or if the 27 <br />group could be disbanded. Mayor Flaherty recommended this be discussed with the group. He 28 <br />did not object to disbanding the group. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Council Member Meehlhause agreed stating 2015 would be the last year they would need to 31 <br />meet. 32 <br /> 33 <br />Council Member Mueller was pleased by the work completed by the Street Committee along 34 <br />with their endorsement of each Street Improvement project. She suggested the committee remain 35 <br />in place through 2015. 36 <br /> 37 <br />Council Member Gunn believed there were a few non-standard streets still in place that should 38 <br />be reviewed by the Street Committee in 2015. 39 <br /> 40 <br />Mayor Flaherty thanked Public Works Director DeBar for his thorough report. 41 <br /> 42 <br />Finance Director Beer provided the Council with an update on the franchise renewal with 43 <br />Comcast noting a public meeting would be held in April. 44 <br /> 45
