Mounds View City Council March 24, 2014 Regular Meeting Page 14 reported the contractor would be responsible for returning the new access point to its current 1 condition after all work was completed. He questioned if the Council supported this amendment. 2 3 Council Member Meehlhause asked if the City would receive additional compensation because 4 of the proposed amendment. City Administrator Ericson anticipated the City would receive 5 additional compensation. 6 7 The Council supported staff’s recommendation. 8 9 1. Public Works Annual Report 10 11 Public Works Director DeBar discussed the 2013 Annual Report with the Council. He 12 highlighted the projects completed along with the shifts made to personnel. He reviewed the 13 amount of water pumped and discussed the number of water service breaks. He noted the 14 County would be rehabbing County Road I in 2015. 15 16 Public Works Director DeBar reported the Wellhead Protection Plan was completed and 17 approved. He then reviewed the cost saving measures seen by the City due to his coordinating 18 efforts. He noted utilities for the TCAAP site would continue to be discussed with the City of 19 Arden Hills. 20 21 Public Works Director DeBar explained Area F was completed in 2013 and the City had only 22 three more improvement projects remaining. He was proud of the park improvements completed 23 at Silver View Park and reported the City received “Tree City” Status again for the 32nd year in a 24 row. 25 26 Public Works Director DeBar questioned if the Street Committee should remain intact or if the 27 group could be disbanded. Mayor Flaherty recommended this be discussed with the group. He 28 did not object to disbanding the group. 29 30 Council Member Meehlhause agreed stating 2015 would be the last year they would need to 31 meet. 32 33 Council Member Mueller was pleased by the work completed by the Street Committee along 34 with their endorsement of each Street Improvement project. She suggested the committee remain 35 in place through 2015. 36 37 Council Member Gunn believed there were a few non-standard streets still in place that should 38 be reviewed by the Street Committee in 2015. 39 40 Mayor Flaherty thanked Public Works Director DeBar for his thorough report. 41 42 Finance Director Beer provided the Council with an update on the franchise renewal with 43 Comcast noting a public meeting would be held in April. 44 45
