current Public Works Staff. The Public Works Department adheres to the practice of <br />maintaining all of its vehicles and equipment to the best operating condition. <br /> <br />With the deduction of the trade-in the cost for the new truck and plow package would be <br />$151,199.00 and the current 2017 budget has the replacement set at $125,000.00; <br />$26,199.00 over the current budget. <br /> <br />Staff has discussed the overage with Finance Director Beer and Director of Public <br />Works Erickson, and the following actions are proposed to help alleviate the shortage of <br />funds: <br />• The current 2017 budget has the replacement of a roll compactor for $20,000.00 <br />and this will be postponed until 2018. <br />• The 2017 budget includes the replacement of a service truck and the purchasing <br />of a used utility cart; both of the items are currently under budget by $3,966.00. <br />• These actions would leave a shortage balance at $2,233.00 and the remainder <br />would be funded from account 460-4470-7040 with an adjustment to the 2017 <br />budget. <br /> <br />A summary of the proposed truck replacement is as follows: <br /> <br />• 2017 Mack GU532 SBA Single Axle Truck $88,832.00 <br />• Trade-In of 2003 Dump Truck ($48,000.00) <br />$40,832.00 <br /> <br />• Equipment and Options $110,367.00 <br />(Dump body, plows, lights, controls, etc) <br /> <br />• Dump Truck and Equipment Sub-total $151,199.00 <br /> <br />• 2017 Budget $125,000.00 <br /> Balance ($26,199.00) <br /> <br />• Roll Pack not purchased in 2017 $20,000.00 <br />• Under budget of Service truck $2,766.00 <br />• Under budget utility cart $1,200.00 <br />Sub-total $23,966.00 <br /> <br />Balance $26,199.00 <br />Adjustments ($23,966.00) <br />End Balance $2,233.00 <br /> <br />The 2017 Pavement Management Fund, 460-4470-7040, has $125,000.00 budgeted for <br />this dump truck purchase. This will need a budget adjustment by the Council of <br />$2,233.00. <br />
