Mounds View City Council May 22, 2017 <br />Regular Meeting Page 9 <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller explained the format of Mounds View Matters would be updated and encouraged 1 <br />residents to read through this valuable resource. 2 <br /> 3 <br /> B. Reports of Staff. 4 <br />1. Finance Department Quarterly Report. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Finance Director Beer reviewed the Finance Department’s quarterly report and interim financial 7 <br />statements with the Council. He commented on the financials and it was noted the first quarter 8 <br />was relatively unremarkable. He discussed the unemployment, inflation and GDP rates in detail. 9 <br /> 10 <br />Public Works Director Erickson updated the Council on the projects occurring in the City. He 11 <br />explained he recently met with officials from the Rice Creek Watershed District to discuss the 12 <br />Anoka/Ramsey County judicial ditch. He indicated he had received several calls regarding 13 <br />infiltration basins and reported staff would be following up on these water table concerns. 14 <br /> 15 <br />Council Member Gunn asked if sump pump hoses could drain directly into the street. Public 16 <br />Works Director Erickson stated he has not gone around and stopped residents from doing this 17 <br />because of the high level of the ground water. He encouraged residents to discharge their sump 18 <br />pump into their yards. 19 <br /> 20 <br />City Administrator Ericson stated he attended the North Metro Mayor’s meeting with Mayor 21 <br />Mueller last week and where crisis management was the topic. The importance of public 22 <br />notification was discussed. He noted former Mayor of Blaine and MnDOT Commissioner Elwyn 23 <br />Tinklenberg was the guest speaker. 24 <br /> 25 <br />City Administrator Ericson reported he attended a Charter Commission meeting last week where 26 <br />seat vacancies and special elections were addressed. 27 <br /> 28 <br />City Administrator Ericson commented on the scheduled July 3rd City Council worksession 29 <br />meeting and suggested this meeting be rescheduled due to the 4th of July holiday. He 30 <br />recommended the July worksession meeting be held on Monday, July 17th. He explained the 31 <br />Charter Commission would be invited to attend this meeting. The Council supported this 32 <br />recommendation. 33 <br /> 34 <br />City Administrator Ericson asked if the Council wanted to hold a budget review worksession on 35 <br />June 19th. The Council supported this recommendation. 36 <br /> 37 <br />C. Reports of City Attorney. 38 <br /> 39 <br />City Attorney Riggs reviewed his monthly report with the Council and provided an update on the 40 <br />Clearwire contract. 41 <br /> 42 <br />11.
