Mounds View City Council May 8, 2017 <br />Regular Meeting Page 12 <br /> <br />Finance Director Beer reported the new website would have a translator option available for 1 <br />Mounds View residents. 2 <br /> 3 <br />Mayor Mueller hoped the new website would be easier to navigate than the existing site. 4 <br />Business Development Coordinator Beeman stated the new site would be much more user 5 <br />friendly. 6 <br /> 7 <br />Public Works Director Erickson provided the Council with an update on the demolition that was 8 <br />occurring at the Public Works Facility. He estimated the demolition work would be completed in 9 <br />the next week. After that point, the water lines would be moved closer to the boulevard. He 10 <br />stated he would be more than happy to provide the City Council with the tour of the property if 11 <br />the Council was interested. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Mayor Mueller requested an update on the Mounds View Boulevard/Long Lake Road project. 14 <br />Public Works Director Erickson reported this was a Ramsey County project. It was his 15 <br />understanding the County would be removing the existing signals and Long Lake Road would be 16 <br />restriped to have a through and right turn lane with a dedicated left turn lane. He explained the 17 <br />new signals would be installed the week of May 22nd. 18 <br /> 19 <br />Mayor Mueller stated she has received complaints from walkers that they are having difficulty 20 <br />crossing at County Road I. She requested staff contact the County in order to have the 21 <br />crosswalks at County Road I better marked. Public Works Director Erickson indicated he would 22 <br />speak with the County regarding this matter. 23 <br /> 24 <br />Council Member Meehlhause asked how staff was adjusting to the displacement of the Public 25 <br />Works Facility. Public Works Director Erickson stated this was a challenge, but his staff 26 <br />members were dealing with the adjustment well. 27 <br /> 28 <br />City Administrator Ericson reported an article would be printed in the upcoming Mounds View 29 <br />Matters regarding Simple Recycling. He noted Simple Recycling would begin pick-ups the 30 <br />second week of June and explained a direct mailing would be sent to all Mounds View residents 31 <br />with garbage service. 32 <br /> 33 <br />City Administrator Ericson stated the Council would be reviewing proposals for Mounds View 34 <br />Matters next week. He discussed the Council’s goals for this publication. 35 <br /> 36 <br />C. Reports of City Attorney. 37 <br /> 38 <br />There was nothing additional to report. 39 <br /> 40 <br />11.
