<br />Item No: 09J <br />Meeting Date: Monday, July 10, 2017 <br />Type of Business: CB <br />City Administrator Review: ______ <br /> <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Desaree Crane, Assistant City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 8793, Appointing Public Works Supervisor Don <br />Peterson as Interim Public Works Director <br /> <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Public Works Director Brian Erickson has resigned from his position effective July 14, <br />2017. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br />Resolution 5626 (attached), allows for additional compensation to be paid to employees <br />performing higher classification duties, so long as the duration of work exceeds two <br />months and that the employee is assuming 75% or more of the higher classification <br />duties. In this case, both of these requirements are satisfied. <br /> <br />Public Works Supervisor Don Peterson will be taking on the duties of the Public Works <br />Director on an interim basis while the City Council and Staff will start the hiring process <br />of a new Public Works Director. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that Public Works Supervisor Don Peterson be appointed as Interim <br />Public Works Director and be compensated at 10% in accordance with Resolution 5626, <br />effective July 14, 2017. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br />_________________________ <br />Desaree Crane <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
