<br /> <br />RESOLUTION 8805 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />APPROVING THE PROPOSAL FROM OERTEL ARCHITECTS FOR <br />ADDITIONAL CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION SERVICES FOR THE <br />MOUNDS VIEW PUBLIC WORKS FACILITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City is currently constructing a new Public Works facility and the <br />Public Works Department is currently experiencing changes in staffing levels in the <br />Administration area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staffing vacancies will leave the Public Works Department short <br />staffed during the construction of one of the largest projects the City has had in recent <br />years; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, At the July 10th Council meeting, Brian Erickson informed the Council <br />that additional services may be required to assist Public Works Staff in the construction <br />of the new facility; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Public Works Staff has received a proposal from Oertel Architects for <br />additional construction administration, and has discussed what services would be <br />appropriate for this project; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the additional construction services are as follows: <br /> <br /> Increase site meetings / progress meetings to weekly events <br /> Extend hours needed to include Owner/Architect progress <br />meetings, in addition to the added site / progress meetings. <br /> Review and administration of additional documents and / or <br />construction changes that still fall within the purview of the <br />Architect’s basic scope of services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Oertel is proposing an additional 12 hours per month, for the duration <br />of construction (10 months) at the current billing rate of $125 / hr. which results in <br />$1,500.00 per month, for a total estimated additional fee of $15,000.00. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City <br />of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> <br />1. Accepts the proposal from Oertel Architects for additional construction <br />administration for the construction of the Public Works Facility. An additional 12 <br />hours per month is proposed for the duration of construction (10 months) at the <br />current billing rate of $125 / hr. which results in $1,500 per month, for a total <br />estimated additional fee of $15,000.00 with the understanding that these are not <br />hard numbers for the necessary hours devoted to additional Construction <br />Administration. <br /> <br />
