<br />Item No: 06C <br />Meeting Date: July 24, 2017 <br />Type of Business: Consent <br /> <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: James Ericson, City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 8800, Approving Severance for Brian Erickson, <br />Public Works Director <br /> <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />Brian Erickson has resigned from his position effective July 14, 2017. Mr. Erickson has <br />been employed by the City for more than two years, starting with the City June of 2015. <br />Attached is Resolution 8800, which authorizes severance to Mr. Erickson in accordance <br />with the City’s Personnel Manual. <br /> <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Section 3.47 of the Personnel Manual indicates that employees who resign shall be <br />compensated for any accrued and unused vacation hours and, with two or more years of <br />service, employees are eligible to receive a payout of sick leave sick subject to the terms <br />and provisions addressed in Section 3.45 regarding the Retirement Health Savings Plan. <br />Mr. Erickson has worked the requisite time frame to be eligible for sick leave payout. <br /> <br />The following represents severance eligible to Mr. Erickson: <br /> <br /> Hours Hourly rate Payout <br />Vacation Hours 60.94 $52.45 $3,196.30 Cash Payout <br />50% of Sick Leave 52.93 $52.45 $2,776.18 into RHSP <br />Total Severance: $5,972.48 <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Staff recommends approval of Resolution 8800 authorizing severance to Brian Erickson <br />pursuant to the Mounds View Personnel Manual. <br /> <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br />_______________________ <br />James Ericson <br />City Administrator <br /> <br /> <br />
