The sale of the home at 10911 Dogwood St. N.W. <br />remodeled as par t of the Coon Rapids Home for <br />Generations progr am has been appr oved by the Coon <br />Rapids Housing and Redevelopment Authority. <br />http://abc new s papers.com/2011/07/13/remodeled-home-s ale-approved-by -c oon-rapids-hra/Februray 28, 2012 <br />Remodeled home sale ap p roved by Coon Rap ids HRA <br />by Peter B odley <br />Managing Editor <br />One of two vacant/foreclosed homes purchased and remodeled by the C oon Rapids Housing and <br />Redevelopment Authority (HRA) thi s year through the Home for Generati ons program has officially <br />been sold. <br />The HRA last week, followi ng a publi c hearing at whi ch no one spoke, approved a purchase and <br />redevelopment agreement and authori zed execution of the deed and other closi ng documents to <br />sell the house at 10911 D ogwood St. N.W. <br />The buyers are P aul Weber and Jessi ca Radtke, who are currently renti ng a home i n S horevi ew. <br />They will be first-time homebuyers, accordi ng to the Radtke. <br />The purchase price of the home is $172,000. The HRA had listed the home at $179,900. <br />The home, which was vacant and foreclosed and had structural defi ciencies, was purchased by the <br />HRA late last year for $102,037 and remodeling work by a contractor hi red by the HRA totaled <br />$68,771. <br />Work included fini shi ng off the basement, opening up the ki tchen/di ning/li vi ng area, constructing a <br />new entryway, landscaping, new sidi ngs and wi ndows and new carpeting. <br />The sale of the second home at 537 109th Ave. N.W., to Mi chelle Weber of A ndover wi ll go before <br />the HRA for a public hearing and acti on Tuesday, July 19. <br />Michelle Weber had made an offer on that home pri or to a series of open houses that began i n late <br />May and continued during June to showcase the remodeli ng and market the properties. <br />Nei ther Paul Weber nor Radtke had attended the pre-constructi on and mid-construction open <br />houses on the properti es or were famili ar with the Home for Generati ons program. <br />But they were immedi ately struck by the Dogwood S treet house when they visi ted i t duri ng one of <br />the June open houses, according to Radtke. <br />“The remodeling has been really nicely done,” Radtke said after the HRA had approved the <br />purchase agreement last week.
