Reviewing the Town Hall Meeting Agenda The Mounds View 3rd Annual Town Hall Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, April 19, 2008. Attached is a draft of the Town Hall Meeting Press Release along with the proposed Agenda. If everything looks fine, the Staff will start the process of advertising on the Electronic Board, Cable TV, the Mounds View Website, Mounds View Matters and the local newspapers. Please review the Agenda and make any changes you feel necessary. The Town Hall Meeting will be televised by CTV on April 19, 2009. B. 2007 Citizenship Award Update The City of Mounds View Citizenship Award recognizes ordinary citizens who have demonstrated outstanding dedication to improving the community. Nominations have been solicited from the public since the beginning of February. Deadline for receiving nominations is Monday, March 3, 2008, at 430pm. Attached are two nominations for the Citizenship Award. If more nominations are received before the deadline, Staff will submit those at this meeting. Past recipients of this award include David Jahnke (2004), Frank Silvas (2005) and Ed Lanz (2006). Nominations are open to the public and the award is subject to the following guidelines: Eligibility Nominations must be: • A Mounds View resident, business owner or land owner. • Recent elected officials, City employees, City contractors or political candidates are not eligible. Selection Criteria 1. Courage: Exemplifies courage and determination to follow one’s own values. 2. Initiative: Demonstrates drive and initiative in his/her approach and overcoming challenges along the way. 3. Time Commitment: Volunteers a significant amount of time and energy to the betterment of the City of Mounds View and its residents; more than just financial contributions. 4. Effectiveness: Generates positive results for the community. 5. Unselfishness: Does not expect anything in return for his/her actions, i.e. financial compensation, fame, or political notoriety.
