City of Mounds View Page 7 <br />Business Image Survey Report <br /> <br />February 2, 2009 <br /> <br />When businesses were asked what they like LEAST about Mounds View, the following written <br />responses were provided: <br />• Run down areas <br />• Attitude in dealing with residents <br />• Community Center <br />• Fees and taxes <br />• Easy access from nearby highways makes it easy for professional shoplifters to hit <br />businesses and flee <br />• Split by the highway <br />• Not enough retail/restaurants <br />• Lack of building and property code enforcement <br />• Low cost housing brings crime and vandalism <br />• A lot of low income housing <br />• Tax base <br />• Charter form of government <br />• Taxes <br />• Lack of retail development <br />• Count Road H. County 10 and the Old Hwy 8 intersection <br />• Influx of low income residents <br />• Traffic congestion <br /> <br />Most Important City Government Attributes <br />To measure attitudes toward desirable attributes of Mounds View’s City government, we have <br />created box scores that combine both Most Important and Somewhat Important together for <br />ranking. The list is ranked by how well respondents felt the attributes reflect Mounds View City <br />government. <br /> <br />RANK <br />1. Open and Honest 90.0% <br />2. Quality Services 86.7% <br />3. Innovative 76.6% <br /> <br />Brand <br />When asked if the current Mounds View tagline “Pride, Progress and Partnerships” appropriately <br />described the City, the majority of business respondents (80.6%) indicated that it did. This would <br />indicate that the tagline represented relevant business attributes that were important to the <br />respondents. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
