Item No. 03 <br />Meeting Date: May 4, 2009 <br />Type of Business: WS <br />Administrator Review: _____ <br /> City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Desaree Crane, Assistant City Clerk-Administrator <br /> <br />Item Title/Subject: Joint Meeting with the Festival in the Park Committee <br /> <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />For 2009, the City has budgeted $4,500 (Account Number: 100-4110-3900) in support <br />of the Festival in the Park. Last year, the City Council passed Resolution 7304 <br />(attached), which authorized additional expenditures to the Festival in the Park, not to <br />exceed $5,300, to assist the Committee in payment of Insurance, Professional Bands, <br />Port-a-Potties, Irondale Marching Band, use of the City’s copier machine, and the Car <br />and Tractor Show. The Festival in the Park Committee would like to ask the City <br />Council if the City would assist in the expenditures for this year. The Festival in the <br />Park is scheduled for August 22, 2009. <br /> <br /> <br />Budget Discussion: <br /> <br />Attached is The Festival in the Park Committee budget. The Festival Committee needs <br />assistance on payment of insurance, Professional Bands, Port-a-Potties, Irondale <br />Marching Band, use of City’s copier machine, the Car and Tractor Show and Festival in <br />the Park Signage. Any help that the City could give to the Festival Committee would be <br />greatly appreciated. The Committee feels that contributions from area businesses may <br />be minimal due to the present economy. <br /> <br />Members of the Festival in the Park Committee will be present at this Work Session to <br />answer any questions. <br /> <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Desaree Crane <br />
