<br />Item No: 6 <br />Meeting Date: December 7, 2009 <br />Type of Business: Work Session <br />Administrator Review : ____ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: James Ericson, Clerk - Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Review City Policy Regarding Memorials in Parks <br /> <br /> <br />Introduction: <br /> <br />This item is being brought forward for your review at the request of a Council Member. <br /> <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br />The City adopted a policy to address requests received to dedicate memorials in City <br />parks. The Council had desired something formal in place so there would be guidance <br />when dealing with such requests, and had asked the Parks, Recreation and Forestry <br />Commission to suggest some recommendations. On November 5, 2007, the Council <br />reviewed the Commission’s draft recommendations and on November 26, 2007, the <br />Council adopted Resolution 7189 approving the policy.
