r <br /> APPROVED AS AMENDED <br /> OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS <br /> 411 <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the special meeting of the <br /> Spring Lake Park City Council along with the Mounds View City <br /> Council was held on September 20, 1993 , at the Spring Lake Park <br /> Community Center, 1301 81st Avenue N.E. , at 5:30 P.M. <br /> 1 . Call to Order <br /> Mayor Wells called the meeting to order at 5:30 P.M. <br /> 2. Roll Call <br /> Members Present: Councilmembers Mathiowetz, Carlson, Hollom and <br /> Mayor Wells <br /> Moundsview Councilmembers Trude, Wuori , <br /> Quick, Blanchard and Mayor Linke <br /> Members Absent: Councilmember Mason <br /> Staff Present: Engineer Anderlik; Attorney Carson; Clerk Busch <br /> and Receptionist Mueller <br /> Moundsview Assistant City Manager, Tim <br /> Cruikshank and City Planner Paul Harrington <br /> Visitors: Bill Stewart, Spring Lake Park Lions • <br /> 3 . Pledge of Allegiance <br /> 4 . Welcome Moundsview City Council <br /> Mayor Wells welcomed the City Council and staff to the Spring Lake <br /> Park Chambers, explaining that we had asked them to be here tonight <br /> to review a couple of matters of interest to both cities. <br /> 5 . Signalization of Pleasantview Drive and Highway 10 <br /> First of all the matter of signalization of the intersection at <br /> Pleasantview Drive and U S Highway 10. Mayor Wells explained that . <br /> both the cities of Spring Lake Park and Moundsview had approved the <br /> signalization issue approximately five years ago, and that it was <br /> then referred to the state. Shortly after this it was taken off of <br /> the state "hot list" of intersections with high rate of accidents <br /> and referred back to the two cities to resolve the problem, and the <br /> project was dropped. <br /> Mayor Wells continued that the plan provided to both cities tonight <br /> is the most recent proposal being put forth for a couple of good <br /> reasons. That being the building of the new Fire Station at that <br /> corner and the proposal of a senior citizen housing unit being <br /> built across the street from the fire station. In talking to the <br /> Fire Chief he feels that there would be better traffic control, • <br /> exit and egress to the station, if the intersection is signalized. <br /> The Fire Department is now working with the city of Blaine to <br />
