Ms. Samantha Orduno
August 13, 1993
We will visit the site to observe for potential
problem areas such as exposed drums, tanks or
other evidence that could indicate impacts on the
soil or groundwater. Our site visit will be
limited to observing the surface characteristics
of the site. We do not plan to obtain any soil or
groundwater samples for analytical testing during
Phase I work.
We will contact the Minnesota Department of
Natural Resources (DNR) regarding the location of
nearby designated protected waters and wetlands.
we will contact the City of Mounds View for
information regarding known spills and leaks which
may have occurred near the subject site and for
information regarding current and past on -site and
nearby activities.
We will contact the City of Mounds View and the
Minnesota Geological Survey (MGS) to request
information regarding the city water supply and
the locations of private wells within one mile of
the site. From available information, we would
estimate the direction of the groundwater flow
under the site.
We will contact local utility companies to request
information concerning locations of underground
pipelines in the vicinity of the site.
10. We will review and interpret aerial photographs of
the site available at the University of Minnesota
Wilson Library for past land use. We also will
order and review Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps for
the site as an indication of past land use.
11. We will review available technical publications,
maps, and our in-house files for information
concerning the geology of the area.
12. We will contact the City of Mounds View Fire
Department to inquire whether USTs have been
reported on or removed from the site, or nearby
sites.
Our scope of work will not include conducting a Chain -of -Title review.
our scope of work also does not include analytical or field testing for
radon, asbestos, or other hazardous wastes, and does not include
definition or classification of wetlands.
