SEWER UTILITY COMMENTARY <br /> • <br /> The Sewer Utility accounts for the costs of providing sewer service to residents and <br /> businesses. The City performs maintenance on sewer mains located within the City. <br /> Sewage is transferred from City mains to interceptor mains owned by the <br /> • Metrcpciitan Waste Control Commission (MWCC) and is then transported to the <br /> MWCC waste water treatment plant'in St. Paul. The MWCC bills the City for sewage <br /> treatment costs. <br /> Costs cf operating the Sewer Utility are paid by City residents and businesses in the <br /> form of user fees. It is the policy of the City to operate the Sewer Utility on a break- <br /> even basis.
