• DEPARTMENTAL BUDGET NARRATIVE <br /> FUND: General <br /> DEPARTMENT: Golf Course <br /> DEPARTMENT OBJECTIVE <br /> The objective of the Golf Course is to provide a quality leisure recreational facility <br /> • for-residents-to enjoy Also, the golf-course-is_intended-to-bei-gemstone-of-the <br /> community, emitting a good image to the City of Mounds View. The golf course will <br /> be a self-supporting enterprise fund facility. <br /> DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES <br /> The golf course activities will include initial construction of the course. During this <br /> time a Golf Course Superintendent will be hired to assist with the on-site <br /> construction, supervision and "bull-dogging". Once the course is constructed, a grow- <br /> in time will be in effect at which time the course will need to be maintained with <br /> seasonal workers, but at which time the course will not be in operation. Once the <br /> • grow-in time is complete, the course will be open for operation. <br /> DEPARTMENT GOALS <br /> The Golf Course Task Force has set its goals: commencement of construction of the <br /> City's municipal golf course for Spring, 1994. It is anticipated that the Task Force <br /> will remain an active participant in all phases of the golf course project. <br /> The Environmental Quality Commission goals involve continued enhancement of the <br /> City's Recycling Program and monitoring of environmental-legislation, policies or - - - <br /> procedures which may affect the City. <br /> Goals for the Planning Commission include: <br /> * Orderly development of the City, maximizing City resources and remain <br /> consistent with Council and community goals and objectives. <br /> * Development of a City-wide landscape ordinance for new development <br /> to further refine development design and quality. <br /> • <br />
