3) Elections - The election activities of the City include the maintenance of <br /> Voter Registration records, provision and maintenance of voting and ballot <br /> counting equipment, supplies and administrative services, including election <br /> judges, necessary for the legal and efficient conduct of elections. <br /> It is anticipated that basic election services will change over the next five <br /> years with the addition of a Presidential Primary beginning in 1992. <br /> Increased expenditures may be required when special elections are held <br /> which cannot be anticipated, or the State or Federal governments modify <br /> the rules and regulations for the conduct of elections. At the present time, <br /> the cost for conducting a Presidential Primary are uncertain as the <br /> Secretary of States Office has not promulgated rules which will guide the <br /> City in conducting this election. <br /> 4) City Hall - The City Hall Division of the Administration Department <br /> provides for the maintenance and operation of the City Hall building and <br /> office equipment, personnel services, half the printing costs for the City <br /> Newsletter, costs of the receptionist and part time clerical staff, office <br /> supplies, postage and liability and automobile insurance premiums. <br /> Other important plans for the City Hall Division in the years 1993-1997 <br /> include: <br /> In 1992, the main office area of City Hall and the Parks and <br /> Recreation Department underwent a much needed facelift. New paint and <br /> carpeting brightened City Hall and created a much more pleasant work <br /> environment for employees. Replacement of the front counter with a work <br /> station area and reception area further added to the more welcoming <br /> environment. While additional space was not achieved with the project and <br /> long term crowding was not impacted, reconfiguration of work station areas <br /> in tie-nai off4ce-area-did-provide-temporary relief. Consequently, the <br /> increasing demands for work and storage_space within City Hall and the <br /> need to remodel or expand City Hall will remain a priority item for the <br /> future. <br /> * Continued maintenance of the Novel Network System which will be <br /> fully implemented by the end of 1992. Staff training on the system <br /> will be an on-going activity as system use will be continually changing <br /> g <br /> to meet the City's growing communication andi formational needs. <br /> The network software and much of the required link equipment was <br /> 3 <br />
