Mounds View City Council December 11, 2006 <br />Regular Meeting Page 19 <br /> <br />Mayor Marty noted that the Public Safety Officer assists with Code Enforcement and has taken a 1 <br />big load off of Jeremiah Anderson. He then said that he also helps out the Community 2 <br />Development Department. 3 <br /> 4 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 5 <br /> 6 <br />L. Resolution 6977, Approving the Purchase of a Public Safety Video 7 <br /> Monitoring Project with Grant Funding 8 <br /> 9 <br />Chief Sommer indicated that the City applied for a grant to fund a public safety video monitoring 10 <br />system for the City and has received $24,681. Staff recommends approval in the amount of 11 <br />$25,206.00 payable from the grant fund with the additional $525.00 from the Police Department 12 <br />equipment fund. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Council Member Stigney asked what the operating temperature is of the entire system. 15 <br /> 16 <br />Chief Sommer indicated that the power transformer would be converted from the system and 17 <br />these are all designed for outdoor use. 18 <br /> 19 <br />Council Member Stigney asked the Chief to find out the complete range of temperatures that the 20 <br />equipment will function at. 21 <br /> 22 <br />Council Member Stigney asked what exact equipment the City is getting with approval of this 23 <br />quote. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Chief Sommer indicated that some of the data is background data but the detailed cost sheet lists 26 <br />the exact camera models being approved. 27 <br /> 28 <br />Council Member Stigney asked if all the cameras will be the same and asked that the Chief 29 <br />provide the specs on the equipment being purchased. 30 <br /> 31 <br />Mayor Marty asked about the enclosure assembly plug in type for easy removal and said he is 32 <br />concerned about theft. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Chief Sommer indicated that these are not meant to be easily accessed. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Jonathan Thomas of 8040 Groveland Road explained that these will be bolted on but the cables 37 <br />can be quick adapter removed for service. 38 <br /> 39 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Thomas/Gunn. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 6977, 40 <br />Approving the Purchase of a Public Safety Video Monitoring Project with Grant Funding. 41 <br /> 42 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 43 <br /> 44
