Mounds View City Council January 8, 2007 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br /> <br />Mr. Jahnke said that in a previous discussion with the Mayor the Mayor had commented that 1 <br />Medtronic would cost the City more money some way and he could not figure out what the 2 <br />Mayor meant so he is here to ask. 3 <br /> 4 <br />Mayor Marty asked what was being discussed at the time. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Mr. Jahnke did not remember but said he was concerned about it. He then asked the new 7 <br />Council Members to watch every buck that is spent. 8 <br /> 9 <br />Mayor Marty indicated he would contact Mr. Jahnke to discuss the matter. 10 <br /> 11 <br />6. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUISNESS 12 <br /> 13 <br /> A. Presentation by Kari Murlowski re: Alternative Wellness Center 14 <br /> 15 <br />This item was removed from the Agenda. 16 <br /> 17 <br />7. COUNCIL BUSINESS 18 <br /> 19 <br /> A. Public Hearing to Consider Resolution 6991, a Conditional Use Permit for an 20 <br /> Oversize Garage at 8410 Knollwood Drive; Planning Case CU2006-010 21 <br /> 22 <br />Planning Associate Heller explained the Conditional Use Permit Application for an oversized 23 <br />garage at 8410 Knollwood Drive. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Planning Associate Heller indicated that the Comp Plan encourages improvements to properties 26 <br />and the CUP process requires the City to take a look at any potential impact to surrounding 27 <br />properties. She then said that she feels this addition would be a benefit to this property owner 28 <br />and the surrounding area. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Planning Associate Heller explained that a variance for a reduced side yard setback was approved 31 <br />by the Planning Commission. She then explained that the addition to the garage would match the 32 <br />existing structure and blend in well. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Mayor Marty opened the public hearing. 35 <br /> 36 <br />There were no public comments. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Mayor Marty closed the public hearing. 39 <br /> 40 <br />Council Member Flaherty asked if the Applicant discussed this project with the neighbor to the 41 <br />south. 42 <br /> 43 <br />The Applicant indicated that he had discussed the garage expansion with the neighbor and the 44 <br />neighbor did not have an issue with it. 45
