Mounds View City Council February 26, 2007
Regular Meeting Page 16

1
Council agreed to allow Work Session Agenda items to be modified by the City Administrator to 2
fit into the available time. 3
4
C. Reports of City Attorney 5
6
City Attorney Riggs updated Council regarding the issues of billboards to be consistent with the 7
agreements with Clear Channel and Medtronic. He then said that Numbers 2 and 3 are to be 8
removed by March 31, 2007. Medtronic has asked to leave 2 up and remove 6 and Clear 9
Channel is willing to do that so that may come to Council for consideration because leases and 10
agreements will need to be amended. He then said that Clear Channel is moving forward with 11
applications necessary for permits and Clear Channel wants to wrap everything up as soon as 12
possible and Medtronic may be willing to do so. 13
14
Mayor Marty asked the City Attorney to provide the information on this situation to the new 15
Council Members. 16
17
Mayor Marty asked for the status on the request to Mn/DOT to remove scrub trees that had 18
grown up. 19
20
City Attorney Riggs indicated request has been made but Mn/DOT has not provided official 21
permits but there have been discussions on what needs to be removed and this whole issue needs 22
to be resolved by October 25, 2007. 23
24
Council Member Flaherty commented that he hopes that everyone understands that the number 25
one priority with Mn/DOT is the soundwall and that is more important than scrub trees to be 26
removed. 27
28
Mayor Marty said he was wondering if Mn/DOT had made any determination. 29
30
Council Member Mueller asked whether the sign language was adopted. 31
32
City Attorney Riggs said that the emergency moratorium is in place and Clear Channel was 33
informed of it. 34
35
12.
