Item No. 7J <br />Meeting Date: April 9, 2007 <br />Type of Business: CB <br />WK: Work Session; PH: Public Hearing; <br />CA: Consent Agenda; CB: Council Business <br />City Administrator Review _______ <br /> City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Greg Lee, Director of Public Works <br /> <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 7063 Awarding a Construction Contract <br />for the Oakwood Park Improvement Project – Phase <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />Background: <br />On April 24, 2006, the City Council approved Resolution 7053 holding the Public <br />Improvement Hearing, ordering the project, approving plans and specifications, <br />authorizing the advertisement for bids, and setting a bid date for the Oakwood <br />Park Improvement Project – Phase 1. <br /> <br />Phase 1 includes the creation of a level field area at the southeast corner of <br />Hillview Road and Quincy Street. Activities associated with phase 1 include <br />removal of the current baseball field (including ag-lime infield and fencing), re- <br />grading of the site, installation of an irrigation system, and re-establishment of <br />turf. <br /> <br />A chain-link fence is planned to be constructed near and parallel to the north and <br />west property lines. The installation of this fence is proposed to be included in a <br />separate contract – to be installed after the initial grading and restoration of the <br />site. <br /> <br />The other proposed upgrades to Oakwood Park include: <br />Phase 2 – Playground Installation <br />Phase 3 – Disc Golf Course Installation <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
