Page 3
80 inch Light Material Bucket:
The bucket, with counter weights provided, will be used to load
salt/sand into dump trucks in the winter and will allow us more
maneuverability in the salt shed.
Cab Enclosure and Heater:
To allow cold season usage.
Hydraulic Auger:
We are trading in our 3 point hitch mounted auger for a quick
mounted front auger for the skidloader. The reasons for this are
operator safety in mounting and operation and the fact that the
auger is reversible on the skidloader. This reversible action
enables the operator to reverse the direction to free the auger in
the event of an obstruction under ground.
The bid prices of the skidloader and accessory tools are listed
below. Carlson Tractor and Long Lake Ford Tractor have bid equal
units (New Holland) and Lano Equipment's bid of a Gehl has been
rejected for not meeting specifications.
The budgeted amount for the skidloader was from three (3) equal
fund sources; water, sewer and street departments, for a total of
$35,000.00. We would like to include all of the accessory tools
for purchase for the reasons stated earlier. We would like to
utilize a portion of the unused funds from the purchase of our
underground storage tank monitor. This item was purchased for
$6,169.00 and budgeted at $12,000.00 out of water, sewer and street
departments. (The reason for the higher amount was due to the fact
of not knowing what kind of monitor we would be required to use
since we had some contaminated soil and ground water) Therefore we
are requesting to use $3,806. 00 of the excess $5,831.00 to fund the
remaining cost. The purchase of this skidloader and attachments
will increase productivity, operator safety, reduce injuries and
save the City money in dumping charges for asphalt.
