The Festival in the Park committee has been meeting every other week 5 <br />to work on the festival for Sunday, August 19, 2007. There will be a design a T-shirt contest and 6 <br />the information is on the website. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Council Member Mueller said that she had the privilege of attending a Minnesota League of 9 <br />Cities seminar last week and she attended 10 sessions that could have been all day, but were very 10 <br />informational sessions of about 45 minutes and she learned a lot that she hopes to apply in her 11 <br />position. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Acting Mayor Stigney reported that the County Commissioners gave themselves a 25.1% raise 14 <br />with no public discussion and no public input from $63,948 up to $80,000 and Tony Bennett will 15 <br />get $82,500. He then said that he talked to Commissioner Parker at the Town Hall meeting and 16 <br />made his comments known to her. He further said that both Commissioners Parker and Bennett 17 <br />voted for this as did every commissioner except for Reinhardt and he is very disappointed in the 18 <br />Commissioners. 19 <br /> 20 <br /> B. Reports of Staff 21 <br /> 22 <br />Community Development Director Ericson said he just came back from the National Planning 23 <br />Conference and attended a number of very informative sessions discussing Code Enforcement 24 <br />and Sign Code Regulations and other issues with home-based businesses. He then said that he 25 <br />hopes to bring some ordinance amendments or programs and policies based on information he 26 <br />received at the Conference. 27 <br /> 28 <br />City Administrator Ulrich noted that the Ramsey County League of Local Governments meets 29 <br />this Thursday at Maplewood City Hall at 7:00 p.m. 30 <br /> 31 <br />C.
