Bid Review - A total of three (3) bids were received for this project. <br /> <br />A complete bid summary is as follows: <br /> <br />Bidder’s Name Base Bid <br />Pearson Bros, Incorporated $219,682.50 <br /> <br />Allied Blacktop $223,169.75 <br /> <br />Astech Surface Technologies $243,943.00 <br /> <br /> <br />Engineer’s Estimate $225,650.00 <br /> <br /> <br />Pearson Bros, Incorporated submitted the low bid in the amount of $219,682.50. <br />This amount compares to the engineer’s estimate of $225,650.00. <br /> <br />This contract will be for a combined project with the City of Spring Lake Park. <br />Mounds View’s share of the project is 63.6% – or $139,718.07 for construction <br />costs. The City of Spring Lake Park share would be $79,964.43 <br /> <br />Spring Lake Park City Staff have reviewed the bids and will be reporting the <br />results to their City Council on Monday, July 2, 2007. <br /> <br />All costs for this project will be financed via funds derived from the City’s Street <br />Improvement Fund (account 285-4470-7050). <br /> <br /> <br />Project Schedule – The current project schedule is as follows: <br /> <br />June 25, 2007 Award Construction Contract <br />July 16, 2007 Project Begins (estimated) <br />July / August 2007 Initial Sweeping – three days after application. <br />Second sweeping – 30 days after application <br />September 1, 2007 Project Completed <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />It is recommended the Council adopt the attached resolution awarding the <br />construction contract for the 2007 Seal Coat Project. <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br /> <br /> <br />Greg Lee, Director of Public Works
