They 2 received a thank you note from Terry and Tracy Poirer of White Bear Lake, who participated in 3 the car show, and they look forward to participating next year. Including Mounds View, we had 4 some people from 10 communities to participate 5 6 B. Reports of Staff 7 8 City Administrator Ulrich reported that the I-35W Corridor Coalition is having an update on the 9 I-35 Bridge reconstruction and the meeting is August 29, 2007 at 4:30 p.m. with representatives 10 from Mn/DOT present to discuss the reconstruction. 11 12 City Administrator Ulrich reviewed the upcoming work session Agenda with Council. 13 14 Mayor Marty noted that one item on the work session, is the City Administrator position, since 15 Mr. Ulrich is going to the City of Ramsey, with September 13, 2007 being his last day. Council 16 will need to discuss assigning an Interim City Administrator as well as a replacement and 17 recruitment plan. 18 19 Community Development Director Ericson indicated that the resident at 2091 Hillview requested 20 a 50 foot stub of right of way that the property owner has been maintaining, be annexed to her 21 property. Staff has asked the City Attorney to review what the process would be. Director 22 Ericson indicated that there are no utilities in that location, and Staff does not see a future use for 23 the property from the City. 24 25 Director Ericson noted that Moe’s had some fire code issues, and the Council requested 26 compliance with the fire code. The owner has provided information that the financing has been 27 received, and a permit from the contractor has been requested, for installation of the hood vent. 28 29 Public Works Director Lee noted that at the July 23, 2007 meeting, Council discussed issues 30 related to Change Order 39, dealing with the insulation of the heating coils for the City Hall 31 project. Since that time, Staff has met with legal counsel and SEH to discuss the issue, and a 32 letter was provided outlining the City’s legal position with this situation. He then provided that 33 letter to Council and asked that they review it. 34 35 Director Lee indicated that pursuit of this issue would exceed the cost of the value of this item. 36 37 Mayor Marty indicated that he would like to put the engineer and contractor on notice that the 38 City knows what happened. 39 40 Council Member Flaherty asked Staff to ask the Engineer to split the costs with the City. 41 Council agreed. 42 43 Mayor Marty noted that the budget discussion would continue at the work session on September 44 4, 2007. 45
