Second Reading and Adoption of Ordinance 794, an Ordinance 11 Relating to the Height of Swimming Pool Fences 12 13 Community Development Director Ericson explained that pool owners had asked for consistency 14 with the Minnesota State Building Code in regard to the height of pool fences. 15 16 Mayor Marty opened the public hearing. 17 18 Hearing no public comments, Mayor Marty closed the public hearing. 19 20 Mayor Marty asked about Subdivision 2 and the requirement for the latching mechanism at 54”, 21 being that a 4 foot fence isn’t that high. 22 23 Director Ericson explained the subdivision that allows for a taller fence and requires the 24 mechanism to be on the other side of the fence. 25 26 MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Stigney. Ordinance 795 an Ordinance Amending Chapter 1001 Pertaining to the 34 Building Code 35 36 Community Development Director Ericson noted that no changes were made since the 37 introduction of Ordinance 795 and explained the change that this amendment proposes. This is 38 an update reflecting the changes made to the State Code to update the City’s Code and bring the 39 City into compliance. 40 41 Mayor Marty opened the public hearing. 42 43 Hearing no public comment, Mayor Marty closed the public hearing. 44 45
