Mounds View City Council October 22, 2007
Regular Meeting Page 14

1
Council Member Stigney said that this is $15,000 to try and satisfy some unknown residents that 2
he has not heard from. He then said that those with the best judgment on who should serve as 3
City Administrator, are the Council and existing Staff. There is someone who is fully qualified 4
that wants the position, and this would be a waste of money. 5
6
A resident indicated that he was part of the process for the internal superintendent position and 7
he feels it is worthwhile to search and not just settle for an internal candidate. 8
9
Council Member Flaherty said that this position as City Administrator is too valuable to the 10
function of the City and, though he has no problems with the internal candidate, he feels it would 11
be proper to go out and do the search and have the internal candidate earn the position. 12
13
Council Member Mueller said that due diligence is what she expects the City to do and she 14
would like to hire the consultant to conduct the search. 15
16
Ayes – 3 Nays – 2(Stigney/Hull) Motion carried. 17
18
8.
