<br />The truck that will be auctioned off is Unit No.128, a 1991 Chevrolet 2X4 1-ton <br />with a dump box. It is currently in a usable condition and retains a salvage value <br />due to the City’s extensive maintenance program. This truck will go to the next <br />government auction as soon as the City acquires the new truck. <br /> <br />In addition to the truck itself, additional equipment and options are necessary to <br />fully utilize the truck. These include: a dump box, strobe lights and City of <br />Mounds View logos. These items can be purchased from Crysteel Truck <br />Equipment for $7,353.73. Tax would cost an additional $477.99. <br /> <br />A summary of the proposed truck replacement is as follows: <br /> <br />• 2006 Ford F-350 4x2 regular cab and chassis <br />with dual rear wheels $17,854.60 <br />• Tax, License, and Transfer Fees $1,160.54 <br />Subtotal $19,015.14 <br /> <br /> <br />• Dump box, and accessories $ 7,233.73 <br />City logo $ 120.00 <br />• Tax, License, and Transfer Fees $ 477.99______ <br />Subtotal $ 7,831.72 <br /> <br />• Sub – Total $26,846.86 <br /> <br /> <br />• Auction (reserve) $2,000.00 <br />TOTAL $24,846.86 <br /> <br />The 2006 General Fund, Pavement Management, Vehicle Account (Account <br />100-4472-7030) has $28,000.00 budgeted for this truck purchase. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends that the City Council approve the purchase of a 2006 Ford F- <br />350 4x2 Regular Cab and Chassis with Dual Rear Wheels Truck under state <br />contract and award a contract to Elk River Ford in the amount of $19,015.14 for <br />the purchase of this truck, including tax, license, and transfer fees. <br /> <br />Staff also recommends that the City Council approve the purchase of equipment <br />for the 2006 Ford F-350 4x2 regular cab and chassis with dual rear wheels from <br />Crysteel Truck Equipment in the amount of $7,703.92 and City of Mounds View <br />Logo for $127.80, including tax. <br /> <br />Finally, Staff recommends that the City Council approve the Unit No.128, a 1991 <br />Chevrolet 4X2 1-ton truck to go to government auction as soon as the <br />aforementioned truck is put into service.
