City Administrator 2 <br />Ulrich commented that this should have been provided in the position description. Director 3 <br />Ericson apologized and said the position description should have been in the packet as well. 4 <br /> 5 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Thomas/Gunn. To waive the reading and adopt Resolution 6723 6 <br />Authorization to Hire Full-Time Temporary Building Inspector. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Councilmember Stigney suggested that a condition be added for the Council to see the signed 9 <br />agreement. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Mayor Marty asked when the agreement would be available. Director Ericson stated that the 12 <br />agreement can be presented to the union for approval and then the employee would sign off. He 13 <br />deferred the question on timing to City Administrator Ulrich. 14 <br /> 15 <br />Mayor Marty mentioned the Resolution states employment shall begin on or after tomorrow. 16 <br /> 17 <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated that a condition of employment is pending union and Council 18 <br />approval of the negotiation and receipt of a letter by the City that this is a temporary position. He 19 <br />suggested the action be pending on union and employee approval and receipt of a letter of 20 <br />understanding that this is a temporary position. 21 <br /> 22 <br />Councilmember Thomas, maker of the motion on the floor, and Councilmember Gunn, who 23 <br />seconded that motion, agreed to this friendly amendment. 24 <br /> 25 <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 26 <br /> 27 <br />H. Review Proposed Schedule for Joint Meeting with Various Mounds View 28 <br />Boards and Commission Members 29 <br /> 30 <br />City Administrator Ulrich reviewed that at the December work session, the Council directed that 31 <br />joint meetings with each of the City’s commissions be established during the first part of 2006. 32 <br /> 33 <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated City staff looked at combining some of the Commission 34 <br />meetings with the regular Council work session meeting dates. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Staff proposes the following schedule: 37 <br /> 38 <br />• Charter Commission – Tuesday, February 21, 2006 (City Administrator Ulrich noted that 39 <br />New Brighton City Hall is unavailable for this date; March 8, 2006 is the next day 40 <br />available.) 41 <br />• Park and Rec. Commission – March 6, 2006 (Mounds View Community Center Task 42 <br />Force will report back this night) 43 <br />• Planning Commission – April 3, 2006 44
