Item No. 07B <br />Meeting Date: March 13, 2006 <br />Type of Business: CB <br />City Administrator Review _______ <br /> City of Mounds View Staff Report <br /> <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Kurt Ulrich, City Administrator <br /> <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 6761, A Resolution of Support for a Constitutional <br />Amendment for Motor Vehicles Sales Tax Dedication to <br />Transportation <br /> <br />Attached is information from the North Metro Mayor’s Association in regard to a <br />Minnesota proposed amendment that will be on the 2006 ballot asking voters to <br />dedicate 100% of the motor vehicle sales tax to highways and transit. Passage <br />of this proposed amendment would mean an increase revenue to $300 million <br />per year for highway and transit systems throughout the state without raising <br />taxes. <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />The North Metro Mayor’s Association would like a resolution of support from the <br />City that supports this proposed amendment. It is recommended that that this <br />proposed amendment be approved. Attached is Resolution 6761 supporting this <br />amendment. Staff will forward the approved resolution to the North Metro <br />Mayor’s Association. <br /> <br /> <br />
