Item No: 08B <br />Meeting Date: March 13, 2006 <br /> Type of Business: CA <br />City Administrator Review: ______ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Desaree Crane, Assistant to the City Administrator <br /> <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 6764 Approving a Permit Application for Twin <br />Cities North Chamber of Commerce, a Charitable <br />Organization to conduct Charitable Gambling at Jake’s <br />Sports Cafe located in the City of Mounds View <br /> <br />Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce, a non-profit charitable organization, <br />would like to continue hold charitable gambling on a permanent basis at Jake’s <br />Sports Cafe located in the City of Mounds View. Their gambling permit is up for <br />renewal this year. <br /> <br />Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce is located in Mounds View, and they <br />have more than 30 active members. This meets the requirements of the Mounds <br />View City Code. A list of current member is on file with the City. <br /> <br />The Gambling Control Board requires that local unit of government (city or county), <br />pass a resolution specifically approving or denying the Premises Permit <br />Application. This resolution (approving or denying the application) must be voted <br />on and the resolution forwarded to the Minnesota Gambling Control Board. <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends approval of Premise Permit to permit Charitable Gambling for <br />Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce, at the location stated above. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Desaree M.
