This ordinance received its first <br /> reading on June 8, 1992. Carla Asleson, Recycling Coordinator, reviewed Resolution No. <br /> 4240 Designating Those Recyclable Materials that must be <br /> . Collected by Waste Haulers. Asleson stated that the materials <br /> contained in the resolution are those recommended by the <br /> Environmental Quality Task Force for inclusion. The Environmental <br /> Quality Task Force at their June 16th meeting amended their <br /> previous recommendation to include only office type white paper <br /> rather than all office paper and to delete telephone directories <br /> from the list. <br /> MOTION/SECOND: Adopt Resolution No. 4240 Designating Those <br /> Recyclable Materials that Must Be Collected By Waste Haulers <br /> VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> Moline, hauler frim-_BFB, shared some of his concerns with <br /> the Council regarding the collection of mixed office paper in <br /> that mixed mail becomes a problem. This might cause the markets <br /> to become flooded and the paper would be thrown in the trash <br /> anyway because there would be no way to get rid of it. Mr. Moline <br /> stated that schools are a special problem because of the wide range <br /> of mixed paper. <br /> Councilmember- Rickaby stated that there are a lot of residents in <br /> Mounds View with school age children and that the City will -ave -- - <br /> to take the time to really educate the public on recycling. <br /> Ric Minetor, Public Works Director, stated that by adopting the <br /> • resolution regarding recyclable materials and an item becomes a <br /> problem, Council could change the process much easier by adopting <br />
