CHAPTER 63 <br /> FIRE CODE <br /> 63.01. STATE BUILDING CODE. Effective July 1, 1972, <br /> all buildings within the Municipality shall be regulated by <br /> Laws, 1971, Chapter 561. <br /> 63.02. ADOPTION OF MINNESOTA UNIFORM FIRE CODE_ {There <br /> is hereby adopted by Mounds View for the purpose of <br /> prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous to <br /> health and property from fire or explosion, that certain <br /> code known as the Uniform Fire Code, 1973 Edition, <br /> recommended by the International Association, being <br /> particularly the 1973 edition thereof, and as amended from <br /> time to time, of which code at least one ( 1) copy has been <br /> and is now filed in the offices of the Clerk and the same in <br /> herby adopted and the date of which this ordinance shall <br /> take effect the provisions thereof shall be controlling <br /> within the limits of the Municipality. } <br /> The Minnesota Uniform Fire Code, including amendments <br /> in effect. and appendices thereto are here by adopted as the <br /> fire code of the city. <br /> 63.03. {GENERAL PROVISIONS_ } AMENDMENTS TO FIRE CODE_ <br /> {( 1) Section 9. 102 Definitions of the Uniform Fire <br /> Code amended. <br /> (2) Section 102(a) , Section 1.209 are herby amend to <br /> include "school bus" as an additional occupancy to be <br /> inspected and hazardous conditions remedied. } <br /> The Minnesota Uniform Fire Code is amended and changed <br /> in the following respects: <br /> Article -10 <br /> Section 10.207(c) is amend to read as follows: <br /> (c)Width. The unobstructed width of a fire apparatus <br /> access road shall be not less than 24 feet. <br /> Section 10.306(a) is amended by adding subparagraph: <br /> ( 1 ) All required automatic fire-extinguishing systems <br /> shall be water sprinkler systems except: <br /> When large amounts of electrical equipment are <br /> involved. an alternative extinguishing system may be <br /> considered if the system is designed to provide equivalent <br /> protection as a water system. <br />
