i <br /> NORTH METRO TH 610/TH 10 CROSSTOWN COUNCIL <br /> PURPOSE <br /> To expedite the completion of North Metro TH 10 by 1996, and TH 610 by 1998. <br /> (Otherwise referred to as the North Metro Crosstown.) To provide a forum for <br /> citizens, businesses and local government to discuss, develop, and promote solutions <br /> to the east-west traffic congestion problem of the North Metro area. <br /> OBJECTIVES <br /> Assure that all necessary State and Federal funding is available for the North <br /> Metro Crosstown project, so that the project can be completed by specific dates. <br /> Work with the cities of Brooklyn Park and Maple Grove in their effort to complete <br /> the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the TH 610 section of the North <br /> Metro Crosstown within the next twenty-four month period. <br /> Publicize progress and scheduling of work on the North Metro Crosstown. <br /> Communicate the urgent need for a second east-west thoroughfare in the North <br /> Metro area <br /> Seek funding commitment for the completion of TH 61 ississippi bridge. <br /> Secure the cooperation and support of all surrounding North Metro communities <br /> directly affected, interested neighboring communities, chambers of commerce, <br /> business and community organizations to make the North Metro Crosstown the <br /> number one transportation priority for the area. <br />
