<br />Item No: 8G <br />Meeting Date: 06/12/06 <br /> Type of Business: Consent Agenda <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Kurt Ulrich, City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 6843 Accepting Donation of Children’s Play Apparatus <br />from YMCA for the Community Center <br /> <br />Background: <br />This item was reviewed by the City Council at the June 5th work session. The YMCA has <br />offered to donate a children’s play structure for use at the Mounds View Community <br />Center. The structure is several years old, but is in good condition and would physically <br />fit into the Community Center’s children’s play area. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br />To purchase a new, similar-sized structure would cost at least $9,000 to $12,000. The <br />Mounds View Community Center Task Force identified a children’s play area as one of <br />the upgrades needed at the facility. <br /> <br />The City will expend resources by having public works crews dissemble, move, and <br />reassemble the structure. If the structure were not used for some reason the City would <br />bear the cost of disposal. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />It is recommended that the City adopt the attached Resolution 6843 accepting the <br />donation of the Children’s play apparatus as offered by the YMCA with the intent of using <br />it at the Community Center. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
