RESOLUTION NO. 6843 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />ACCEPTING DONATION OF CHILDREN’S PLAY APPARATUS FROM YMCA FOR <br />THE COMMUNITY CENTER <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City’s adopted goals for the year include to “Continue to provide quality <br />service with limited resources” and to “Improve the effectiveness in delivery of services”; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the adopted values of the City include “Fiscal Responsibility – We believe <br />that fiscal responsibility and the prudent stewardship of public funds is essential for <br />citizen confidence in government”; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the YMCA is a partner with the City in the delivery of quality parks and <br />recreation services for Mounds View residents, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the YMCA has generously offered to donate a children’s play structure for <br />use at the Mounds View Community Center, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Community Center Task Force identified a children’s play <br />area as one of the upgrades needed at the facility, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, to purchase a new, similar-sized structure would cost an estimated $9,000 to <br />$12,000, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, accepting the structure will be consistent with the City values and goals of <br />fiscal responsibility and quality service; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, <br />Ramsey County, Minnesota that the City accept the donation of the Children’s play <br />apparatus as offered by the YMCA with the intent of using it at the Community Center. <br /> <br /> <br />Adopted this 12th day of June 2006. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />(ATTEST) ____________________________________ <br /> Rob Marty, Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />(SEAL) <br />____________________________________ <br /> Kurt Ulrich, City Administrator <br />
