<br /> <br />RESOLUTION 6851 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING REPLACEMENT OF A TOTALED SQUAD CAR <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on May 26, 2006 a Mounds View police squad car was involved in an accident and <br />as a result of the collision it was determined that the squad car was totaled, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the insurance company representing the driver of the vehicle who struck the squad <br />car, Progressive Insurance, have agreed to cover 100% of the damages involved. This includes <br />the value of the 2004 squad car totaled (approximately $12,000), and the cost of removing and <br />reinstalling the police equipment, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order to maintain the fleet of patrol squad cars necessary for the Mounds View <br />Police Department, the totaled squad car needs to be replaced, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Superior Ford maintains a small fleet of in-stock replacement 2006 Ford Crown <br />Victoria police interceptor squad cars available for situations involving totaled squad cars and <br />they offer these squad cars for a price of approximately $23,000 including tax. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council for the City of Mounds View <br />authorizes the purchase of one 2006 Ford Crown Victoria police vehicle from Superior Ford at <br />approximate cost of $23,000.
