appointment be made as of June 1, 2006, as Mr. Schnur has been fulfilling the <br />responsibilities of this position since this time. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnur, if appointed to this position, would continue to be a member of the <br />Public Works Collective Bargaining Unit. As such, Mr. Schnur would be subject to <br />the established job classification system with regard to the pay scale. Based on <br />the criteria set forth by the Labor Agreement with the Public Works Collective <br />Bargaining Unit, Mr. Schnur would qualify for the current established pay scale of <br />$24.24 per hour. <br /> <br />As per the Public Works Labor Agreement, Mr. Schnur would be subject to a <br />twelve-month probationary period. All other personnel policies will apply per the <br />Public Works Labor Agreement and the City’s personnel manual. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnur has been a great asset during his years of employment with the City. <br />The Public Works Department is confident that Mr. Schnur will continue to be an <br />outstanding employee and an asset to the City in the role of Lead Utility Worker. <br /> <br />In the event that the City Council should appoint Mr. Schnur to the vacant Lead <br />Utility Worker position, Staff would recommend authorization to advertise for the <br />vacancy in the Water Division that would be created by this appointment. <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends that the Council authorize the appointment of Michael Schnur <br />as Lead Utility Worker position in the Water Division of the Public Works <br />Department and authorize to advertise for the vacancy in the Water Division of <br />the Public Works Department. <br /> <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br /> <br /> <br />Greg Lee, Director of Public Works <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
