<br />RESOLUTION 6895 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />APPROVING A CONTRACT FOR THE SCADA SYSTEM UPGRADE NO. 2 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The current problem we are having, is a random total loss of <br />communication to Treatment Plant No. 1; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Summer pumping totals increase drastically; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Peak control is a cost savings program to the City of Mounds View; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, with new technology, the City of Mounds View can eliminate the <br />cost and repair of dedicated phone lines by switching to radio technology; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The savings would be approximately $840.00 per month; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Staff has received a bid from US Filter, the proprietary owner of our <br />current SCADA system to install radio communication to all of the existing sites; and <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> <br />1. That a contract with Quality Flow Systems Incorporated to purchase and <br />install the SCADA System Upgrade No. 2 in the amount of $54,509.00, plus <br />tax, is hereby awarded. <br /> <br />2. That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to <br />enter into a contract with Quality Flow Systems Incorporated. <br /> <br />3. That the funds to finance this project will be derived from the Enterprise <br />Fund, under the water infrastructure and equipment department, capitol <br />equipment account (account 700-4823-7030), and that any additional funds <br />that may be required are to be derived from the Enterprise Fund, water <br />infrastructure and equipment department contingency account. <br /> <br />Adopted this 14th day of August 2006 <br /> <br />(ATTEST) ___________________________________ <br /> Rob Marty, Mayor <br /> <br />(SEAL) ___________________________________ <br /> Kurt Ulrich, City Administrator
