To Approve the Consent Agenda as amended. 3 <br /> 4 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 5 <br /> 6 <br />B. Resolution 6869, Authorization to Enter into a Grant Agreement with the 7 <br />Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety Safe and 8 <br />Sober project 9 <br /> 10 <br />Councilmember Gunn stated she would like to thank the Police Department for the Safe and 11 <br />Sober Campaign. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Mayor Marty explained how the grant worked. 14 <br /> 15 <br />MOTION/SECOND: THOMAS/FLAHERTY. To waive the reading and adopt Resolution 16 <br />6869, Authorization to Enter into a Grant Agreement with the Minnesota Department of Public 17 <br />Safety, Office of Traffic Safety Safe and Sober project. 18 <br /> 19 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 20 <br /> 21 <br />E. Resolution 6873 Awarding a Construction Contract for the Silver Lake Road 22 <br />Sidewalk Improvement Project 23 <br /> 24 <br />Mayor Marty pointed out that the low bid was $459,141 and that the engineers’ estimates were 25 <br />$588,000. 26 <br /> 27 <br />Consulting Engineer Rhein stated that five came in lower, two came in higher. He stated there 28 <br />was a very good price for concrete and the contractor specialized in concrete sidewalks. He 29 <br />stated that they checked references for the company and received excellent references. 30 <br /> 31 <br />Mayor Marty stated that the project is scheduled to begin on July 24 and will be completed in 32 <br />October. 33 <br /> 34 <br />MOTION/SECOND: MARTY/THOMAS. To waive the reading and adopt Resolution 6873 35 <br />Awarding a Construction Contract for the Silver Lake Road Sidewalk Improvement Project . 36 <br /> 37 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 38 <br /> 39 <br />F. Resolution 6874 Approving a Letter Agreement with the firm of Bonestroo, 40 <br />Rosene, Anderlik, and Associates to Assist the City with a Traffic Study of 41 <br />the Northwest Area of the City 42 <br /> 43 <br />Councilmember Thomas stated she pulled the item for notice and that it is an issue that should be 44 <br />discussed. 45
