He stated he does not feel billboards belong on County Road 10 and the 3 <br />Council decided if a billboard would be approved at the site, it would be limited to 35 feet. 4 <br /> 5 <br />Mayor Marty expressed his concern about the precedent that would be set if a 45-foot billboard 6 <br />was allowed. He stated he is concerned about allowing a variance from the code without a 7 <br />hardship and the implications on other City ordinances and with other billboards. 8 <br /> 9 <br />Councilmember Thomas expressed her favor of Option B, approving the IUP but denying the 10 <br />variance. 11 <br /> 12 <br />MOTION/SECOND: THOMAS/FLAHERTY. To waive the reading and adopting Resolution 6893, 21 <br />denying Appeal of a Variance Denial for a 45 Foot Tall Billboard at 2200 County Road 10. 22 <br /> 23 <br />G. 7:25 pm – Public Hearing and Consideration of a consideration of a 24 <br />Preliminary Plat for a Major Subdivision of 8360 Long Lake Road; Planning 25 <br />Case MA2006-002 26 <br /> 27 <br />Planning Associate Heller explained that the property is just over 1.5 acres and the property 28 <br />owner has submitted a request to divide it into three lots. She stated that the current home would 29 <br />be demolished. She stated that the current zoning will support the subdivision and the proposed 30 <br />lots will each be one-half acre. 31 <br /> 32 <br />Planning Associate Heller stated it is consistent with zoning and the Comprehensive Plan, and 33 <br />the Staff reports the watershed district will be contacted. She stated that easement has been 34 <br />dedicated in the preliminary plat and Long Lake Road is large enough to handle the additional 35 <br />traffic. 36 <br /> 37 <br />Planning Associate Heller explained that there will be park dedication requirements and Staff 38 <br />recommends it be based on two-thirds the land value. She stated that sewer and water are 39 <br />accessible. 40 <br /> 41 <br />Planning Associate Heller indicated that much of the lot is tree-covered. She stated one resident 42 <br />to the rear of the property was concerned about the number of trees being cleared. She noted that 43 <br />the developer indicated he would clear only trees necessary for the homes. 44 <br /> 45
