Crane Assistant to the City Administrator <br /> <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 6922 Approving 2006-2007 Labor Agreement with <br /> AFSCME <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The AFSCME membership approved the revised contract provisions at a meeting on <br />August 14, 2006. The contract items are consistent with the Council’s position established <br />at the August 14, 2006 Executive Session. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br />The revised contract includes the following provisions: <br /> <br />1. Wages and Insurance <br /> <br /> 3% January 1, 2006 <br /> 3% January 1, 2007 <br /> <br />2. Insurance: The 2006 Employer Contribution will be $685.20 for family <br />coverage and $732.20 for 2007. <br /> <br /> To the extent allowed by law, the employer would pay Basic Medicare Select <br />Senior Gold Plan premium up to the employee benefit amount for employees <br />with such coverage. Said benefit will be done as a letter of understanding so <br />as to avoid the concern of setting a precedent for other employees. This <br />letter of understanding will be updated into the 2006-2007 AFSCME <br />Contract. <br /> <br />3. Uniform Allowance: The uniform allowance will be set at $330 for 2006 and <br />$340 for 2007. <br /> <br />4. Retirement Health Savings Plan <br /> <br /> The City agrees to add the Retirement Health Savings Plan language as <br />stated in Section 3.45 of the Mounds View Personnel Manual. <br /> <br />5. Holidays <br /> <br /> The City agrees to add the same Holiday language as stated in Section 3.10 <br />of the Mounds View Personnel Manual. <br /> <br />
