Resolution 6894 Approval of the Ramsey County Countywide Public Safety 20 <br />Radio Communications Subsystem Subscriber Agreement 21 <br /> 22 <br />Police Chief Sommer stated that the resolution concerns the Ramsey County countywide public 23 <br />safety subsystem subscriber agreement, which is the system associated with the 800-megahertz 24 <br />system. 25 <br /> 26 <br />Police Chief Sommer stated this is system wide, and the Ramsey County system ties in to Anoka, 27 <br />Hennepin, and other counties. He stated that all other cities in Ramsey County have agreed to 28 <br />use the consolidated system. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Mayor Marty asked about Section 3.6 of the agreement, the radio cloning fees. Police Chief 31 <br />Sommer stated it has to do with the actual radios, which have the capability of 250 channels and 32 <br />it takes time to create duplicate radios. He stated cloning of the radio means making another user 33 <br />radio. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Mayor Marty asked about section 4.3, which addresses the financing of subscriber radios. Police 36 <br />Chief Sommer stated the City has purchased their radios and the County has paid $1995 per 37 <br />radio, much of which was funded through a federal grant. He explained that the mobile radios 38 <br />are approximately $2900 a piece. 39 <br /> 40 <br />MOTION/SECOND: GUNN/STIGNEY.
