Item No. 7H Meeting Date: October 9, 2006 Type of Business: CB WK: Work Session; PH: Public Hearing; CA: Consent Agenda; CB: Council Business City Administrator Review _______ City of Mounds View Staff Report To: Honorable Mayor and City Council From: Greg Lee, Director of Public Works Item Title/Subject: Resolution 6947 Appointing Brett Brisbois to a Vacancy in the Water Division of the Public Works Department Background: On June 12, 2006 the City Council approved Resolution 6844 appointing Mike Schnur as the Lead Utility Worker and authorized advertisement of the vacancy in the Water Division that was created by this appointment. Discussion Advertisement for applications was placed in the Star Tribune, Pioneer Press, and the New Brighton–Mounds View Bulletin. It was also placed on the City’s web site and the League of Minnesota Cities Job listing. The City received a total of twenty-six (26) applications for the vacant water position. The applications were pointed and interviews were scheduled with four (4) applicants. The interview committee consisted of the Public Works Director, the Public Works Supervisor, the Public Works Administrative Assistant and the Lead Utility Worker, who formerly occupied this position. Interviews were held on September 27, 2006. Staff has reviewed the credentials of the four applicants that were interviewed and is recommending Brett Brisbois for the position. The interview committee conferred and agreed that Brett Brisbois would meet and exceed all requirements of a Water Division Employee. Mr. Brisbois has attended Century College for general education and Saint Cloud Technical College where he received a certificate in Water Environmental Technologies. He possesses a Minnesota Water Supply System Operators Class D license and a Minnesota Wastewater Operators Class D license.
