Item No. 7H <br />Meeting Date: October 9, 2006 <br />Type of Business: CB <br />WK: Work Session; PH: Public Hearing; <br />CA: Consent Agenda; CB: Council Business <br />City Administrator Review _______ <br /> City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Greg Lee, Director of Public Works <br /> <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 6947 Appointing Brett Brisbois to a <br />Vacancy in the Water Division of the Public Works <br />Department <br /> <br />Background: <br />On June 12, 2006 the City Council approved Resolution 6844 appointing Mike <br />Schnur as the Lead Utility Worker and authorized advertisement of the vacancy <br />in the Water Division that was created by this appointment. <br /> <br /> <br />Discussion <br />Advertisement for applications was placed in the Star Tribune, Pioneer Press, <br />and the New Brighton–Mounds View Bulletin. It was also placed on the City’s <br />web site and the League of Minnesota Cities Job listing. <br /> <br />The City received a total of twenty-six (26) applications for the vacant water <br />position. The applications were pointed and interviews were scheduled with four <br />(4) applicants. <br /> <br />The interview committee consisted of the Public Works Director, the Public <br />Works Supervisor, the Public Works Administrative Assistant and the Lead Utility <br />Worker, who formerly occupied this position. Interviews were held on September <br />27, 2006. <br /> <br />Staff has reviewed the credentials of the four applicants that were interviewed <br />and is recommending Brett Brisbois for the position. The interview committee <br />conferred and agreed that Brett Brisbois would meet and exceed all requirements <br />of a Water Division Employee. <br /> <br />Mr. Brisbois has attended Century College for general education and Saint Cloud <br />Technical College where he received a certificate in Water Environmental <br />Technologies. He possesses a Minnesota Water Supply System Operators Class <br />D license and a Minnesota Wastewater Operators Class D license. <br />
